What does CypriotVillages do?

This App was developed to serve as a humanitarian service to the people of Cyprus. It helps primarily Cypriots but also tourists visiting the northern part of Cyprus to find a particular village. Following the 1974 Turkish invasion, the Turkish authorities have changed the names of all villages and all other toponyms in violation of international conventions and laws. Since there is also lack of appropriate signs depicting the names of villages in all languages spoken by Cypriots, it is practically impossible, even for displaced persons to locate their own home. This application facilitates Cypriots and tourists to navigate on the northern occupied part of the island, by providing an easy way to view a village's name in both Greek and Turkish. It also provides the facility to place markers.
