On 29-30 December, 2013, Civil Society Acts Beyond Borders hosted a training held in Ramallah, the Palestinian Territories. Titled 'Managing Staff and Volunteers', this training was an integral component to the project's series of advanced civil society strengthening workshops. For two days qualified trainers advanced participants' knowledge of a key aspect to CSO management.

After an introductory session the training proceeded, defining and describing personnel qualities, qualifications, and requirements. Next, trainers described methods to promote volunteerism in their communities, and methods to approach staff and volunteer selection. The second day began with a review of the previous days' materials. Trainers then led discussions on volunteer communication and retention. This training successfully advanced participants' capacity to manage volunteers and staff in the civil society setting.
