Anna Lindh Award to Future Worlds Center

Future Worlds Center ranked second place in the final election round for the 2011 Euro-Med Award for the Dialogue between Cultures and was awarded an Honourable Mention for the highly-esteemed work on intercultural dialogue for the promotion of freedom and citizenship. The Euro-Med Award for the Dialogue between Cultures is a very prestigious award given by the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures [1] an organization operating in 43 countries having over a 1000 organizational members, founded to honor Anna Lindh [2] for her pioneer work.

The nomination was done by Heiner Benking of the German wing of the Anna Lindh. He based his proposal on the following:

  1. The high number of structured democratic dialogues[3] implemented by the organization.
  1. Notable projects which promote dialogue, such as Act Beyond Borders, Teach MDGs, Multicultural Cyprus, Moblang, etc.
  1. The world-wide initiatives and books of the members of its Board Aleco Christakis,[4],[5] Yiannis Laouris,[6] Harry Anastasiou,[7] Kerstin Wittig and Romina Laouri.
