Description

On the 05 of April 2012 a conference/workshop at Engomi High School was organized in the context of CyberEthics GIII: Island-wide combined Safer Internet Awareness Node, Hotline, Helpline.


Program

The conference started with a welcoming address from the Head-mister of the Engomi High School Mr. Aristos Aristotelous, the Minister of the of the Ministry of Education & Culture Mr. Giorgo Dimosthenous and the President of the Engomi School Parents Association Mr. Haris Mauromoustakakis. Then, there was a presentation on the "Opportunities and Challenges on the Internet" by Anastasia Ekonomou (Cyprus Pedagogical Institute), Iliada Spyrou (Safer Internet Helpline Coordinator) and Vanessa Antoniadou (Microsoft Cyprus). After the presentation followed a workshop in where 20 young volunteers were trained in order to become peer coaches for the safer use of the Internet.
