LAPs1 Athienou

The first round of LAPs in Athienou was part of our projet Global Education Goes Local (GEGL). It consisted of different activities :

• The festival of local products organised on the 7th of October gave the opportunity to the locality to share with hundreds of people the goals of the project, and to talk about responsible consumption.
• The activity on the 24th of November was a photowalk across the community of Athienou. The goal was to introduce to the participants some emblematic women of Athienou and the history of some particular locations, linked to these women. An expert in conducting photowalks was the main facilitator of the event; the event addressed the issue of gender equality and women's empowerment.
• On the 8th of December, the youth council of Athienou organised an event to raise awareness about the current situation of Athienou parks, where volunteers gathered and cleaned most of the parks there.
