Mrs. Leda Koursoumba who was also Law Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus was assigned by the President as Commissioner for Human Rights and President of the National Institute for Protection of Human Rights (ΕΘΝΟΠΑΔ). She was appointed for 8 years from 2007 until 2014 by the Council of Ministers. She served as Member of the Negotiating Delegation for the ccession of Cyprus to the EU and had the responsibility of the legal aspects of the negotiations and the harmonization process (including the drafting of all harmonizing legislation).

Relation to Future Worlds Center

The National Institute for the Protection of Human Rights (Cyprus) was partner of the Extending EU Citizenship project.
