Sophia holds a Degree in Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Conflict Resolution from the University of Bradford, UK. Shortly after obtaining her Masters, she worked for the Department of Labour, Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance of the Republic of Cyprus. Feeling the need to further her studies, she spend some time in France, where she enrolled at the University of Bordeaux to improve her knowledge in the French language. She also took the opportunity to take other courses as journalism and theatre, volunteer in a local community centre and taste the nice wine of the region! Sophia has worked as Policy Officer of CYINDEP, the National NGDO Platform, for two years, where she has focused on development-related policies of the EU, advocating for the improvement of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided by EU member states, as well as for more coherent policies to the principles of development cooperation.

Sophia has started working at Future Worlds Center in January 2015, mainly working as a Lead Researcher on the EC-funded project Map Your Meal!, but also contributing to other activities of the Global Education Unit.
