The George Mason University was where John N. Warfield developed the Interpretive Structural Modeling Algorithm and his Interactive Management methodology.Benjamin Broome and Aleco Christakis, who both worked with him, implemented work in Cyprus. Benjamin Broome worked in Cyprus as a senior Fulbright scholar between 1994-1996. He facilitated a group of Cypriot peace builders, which later became known as Cyprus Conflict Resolution Trainers Group and is credited by many for his contributions in creating the embryonic peace movement[1]
Aleco Christakis has trained members of the Cyprus Academy of Public Administration, led by Marios Michaelides in the upgraded version of the Methodology which is today known as Structured Democratic Dialogue. Christakis collaborated with Yiannis Laouris at Future Worlds Center between 2006 and 2015 in projects such as the Civil Society Dialogue Project in Cyprus, Act Beyond Borders, Learning and Development Needs for Cypriot Local Authorities, SDD Facilitators Training School, SDD Certification Scheme, and creating the N.E.T.S. Mediterranean Graduate School of Applied Social Cognition.
In 2024, Future Worlds center was invited to implement the Rotary-Carter-Cyprus 2024-25 Peacebuilding Initiative project. Two of the individuals involved, were also academics of the George Mason University:
